Vice Admiral John McNay Taylor was a decorated U.S. Navy officer who served between the 1920s and 1960s. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland and was commissioned as a U.S. Navy officer in 1926 and proceeded to rise through the ranks. Taylor saw combat in the Pacific during World War II and was awarded the Silver Star and the Legion of Merit with Combat "V".
